Syringe Pump

A syringe pump employs a motor to drive a block, pushing the plunger of a syringe that pumps fluid from the syringe. Continuous flow can be obtained when a large flow rate is generated while pulsation becomes significant when the flow rate is low due to the step movement nature of the drive motor. Modern syringe pumps may be programmed for higher accuracy and improved control. Some syringe pumps have infusion and withdrawal features.
